IN in the Great Outdoors!
Our meeting was at The Trails Cafe in Griffith Park at 12 Noon on Saturday, August 1st. We discussed planning group activities, ideas for our next investigation and film projects as well as scientific research https://papermasters.org/
Several members of IN met at Moore’s Deli in Burbank on May 9th, 2015. We discussed future outings, our James Van Praagh protest and plans for other protests, upcoming conferences and plans to make a video about pet psychics.
Saturday on April 11th, 2015 at 8:30 in the morning some folks from IN stood outside James Van Praagh’s psychic workshop in Irvine, CA to protest. We were there because we saw that the workshop was supposed to be an all day (9am-5pm) psychic workshop for KIDS. We found this event to be especially heinous because children are highly susceptible to adult influence, and to us, telling children that they have psychic powers when there is absolutely no evidence for its existence is very wrong.
James Van Praagh came out to greet us and invited some of us to attend his next performance for free. We gladly accepted so that we could witness his work in person. Video to follow.
Some of the folks at IN got together to work on writing sketches for an upcoming pet psychic video series that we’ve got in the works. They will be short, fun and funny videos enlightening viewers to the type of scam artists that call themselves pet psychics.
We had a great time at our cold reading workshop. Mark Edward was fun, funny and informative. We learned tricks of the trade, so that we can explain to believers what is actually behind the illusion of psychic readings.

Heather Henderson, Wendy Hughes, and Linda Lawrence of Los Angeles skeptic group, Investigation Network organized a protest of John Edward’s “Psychic” show at the Pasadena Convention Center and soon face off with Edward’s staff, Convention center management and police as they defend their right to demonstrate and inform attendees of the sham that all psychics are.

We have been busy collecting toiletries for the homeless and this is what we’ve got so far. We packed up one gallon bags with as many items as we could so the fine people from PATH can give them out to individuals in need. We still need more! On February 7th, 2015 IN had a small cold reading workshop led by Micah Cover. We learned some of the techniques used by psychics to give readings to their customers.

There are no dues, and as of this moment, meetings are going to be at various restaurants with meeting rooms until we discover a permanent venue. Suggestions are welcome.
We will discuss IN’s cold reading workshops, among other topics.
